Kushion is like a lavish Bedouin tent, where you can relax on couches under colourful drapes. Beware though, the music is infectious and you may not be able to sit still.

The Venue
As the name suggests, expect to see lots of cushions. This fashionable bar has a Middle Eastern theme with vivid coloured drapes that cover the walls and ceiling, exotic statues and many, many couches in shiny fabrics and velvet. Brown, red, orange and hot pink dominate.

Kushion is lavishly decorated throughout, but you might miss this because the lights are so dim. There's also a small garden where you can catch your breath, or have a crafty tab.

The People
You may find yourself surrounded by the beautifully styled twenty and thirtysomethings of Glasgow, or very young, casual students. It all depends on the night. But, the crowd tends to be young with the twenties crowd dominating.

If it's a particularly studenty night the dress code is casual, but otherwise expect to see some party outfits. Kushion is not particularly judgemental, but you're better-off swapping the beaten trainers for a slightly more stylish look.

The Music
The music selection varies throughout the week. On Monday there's electro house, Thursday is 80s night with an electro twist, Fridays are deep house and soul, while Saturdays are a mix of indie, soul, funk and house.

The Food
There's not much on offer, but during the early hours you can grab a bite to eat. And you'll need it if you're planning to dance the night away.

There's soup and a sandwich for £6, a Kushion burger with fries for £6.25 or a chicken burger for £6. For something more exotic order a platter with chicken satay, sweet chilli pork and crisp spring-rolls which costs £4.50 for one, £6.25 for two, £8 for three and £9.75 for four.

There's also seafood tempura which you can order for one, two, three or four people for between £4.75 and £12, plus other options.

The Drink
Kushion keep things rather simple, and surprisingly affordable. They serve a handful of classic cocktails for £4 and a few shooters, for even cheaper. The other drinks are rather common. They have got all the usual beers and spirits, plus a couple of bottles of wine.

There are drinks promotions every night of the week, and you can spend just £1.50 on a vodka and mixer, or Red Stripe or selected shots. A bottle of house wine is £8 any day.

The Last Word
Kushion is a great venue for those in their twenties. It looks spectacular, drinks are affordable, and they play great music. You won't regret spending a night here.
